Silver Spring resident Marquise Travel Mahoney, 24, surrendered to police investigators on Thursday, March 30, following a days-long investigation into an alleged incident near campus and in a hallway that led to a warrant being issued for his arrest.
At approximately 12:20 a.m. on Monday, March 27, the agency received a report from a student who said she was walking in the 3400 block of Tulane Drive when a man - later identified as Mahoney - touched her inappropriately.
The woman continued walking, and when she turned around, police say that the man exposed himself.
Later that morning, at 10:10 a.m., the department was alerted to a second incident, when a second woman reported that she witnessed a man who has exposed himself inside a hallway before fleeing the area.
Mahoney was ultimately identified as a suspect, and an arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday, March 29.
He has been charged with:
- Fourth-degree sexual offense;
- Assault;
- Molesting or threatening students or school personnel;
- Two counts of indecent exposure.
